Pel’s Fishing Owl
We are very fortunate to have a resident pair of the scarce Pel’s Fishing Owls at our camp.
Although we see them regularly, this past summer (2025/2026) has been the first time the pair has chosen our camp as their breeding location.
The Pel’s Fishing Owls typically lay 1 or 2 eggs. If they do lay 2 eggs, it is common for them to only raise one of the two.
This makes the past breeding season even more special, since they have raised both chicks.
